6 Month Baby Update: Mira

It's hard to believe that we are halfway to my daughters 1 year birthday! I might already be planning her party...

Sleep: Mira is an amazing sleeper! From 6 weeks old to 6 months old, She has slept anywhere from 8-12 hours a night! She also takes 2-3 naps (20min-1.5hours) during the day. She sleeps in her crib in our bedroom and some nights I will lay her down and when it's time to wake up she did a 180 in the crib.

Eating: Mira is still getting her main source of nutrients from breastfeeding. She currently is getting about 30-35oz of milk a day. Along with 4-8oz of little journeys brand baby mush. She loves all the flavors but Banana, Apple Pear & Broccoli, and Banana Blueberry are her favorites. Yes, I do try them as well... Apple Cherry is my favorite! Tastes like those Juicy Juice boxes from the 90's. We also got the green light to introduce Puffs but she hasn't quite figured out how to eat it. So we'll try again another day.

At her 6 month doctor appointment she weighed in at 15 pounds and 26 inches long! Milestones: She has gained an interest in books, and stuffed animals. She can now roll over from back to front. (She learned front to back in May.) She did say her first word: "Dada". I am saying it's her first word because she looked at my Husband and said "Dada" when he came home from work. She does say "Mama" but she associates me with being a food truck. So, in her mind, she thinks "Mama" means "feed me now".

This month was really busy for all of us. We had 2 weddings and 2 funerals in a 2 week span. One of the funerals was in northern Minnesota, and Mira got to meet her great grandma and great aunt for the first time! My husband did not come with, so this was the first night away from daddy. The weekend after, Mira stayed with Dad, and I took a trip up to Northern Minnesota for a friends bachelorette party at a cabin and I had my first night away from Mira. It wasn't terrible. Yes, there were tears... but I am glad I did it, I believe it will make things a little easier for the future. I think the worst part was my Husband sent me a text that she rolled over from her back to her tummy... (which I am thrilled about! But, I missed the rolling from tummy to back) I was trying to hold back tears while at the party, but when my friends mom asked how Mira was doing... I started balling in front of everyone... It was really embarrassing.

We are also staring to work on crawling! She knows that if she cant reach something, she can scoot closer to it, or lay there and cry... and eventually scoot closer to it. :)

How am I doing 6 months postpartum? This might be TMI for some of you, but you are reading a mommy and lifestyle blog...I am doing great! I just ended my second cycle since Mira was born. It was a week late, but my body is still trying to figure itself out. I still cramp about 2-3 days before the crime scene happens. Then everything seems to be the same, it might even be a little lighter than before. I have a lot of energy and feel like physically I am able to do everything I could do before I was pregnant. I didn't exercise while I was pregnant so I have to build up my muscles and endurance again. I have lost 33lbs since Mira was born! yay! I have 19lbs left to my goal weight.

Note to self: If you get pregnant again... lay off the pretzels Amanda!
