Baby Traditions: Mira's Special Song
There are special traditions I want to have with my Daughter and all future children. Each kid will get:
A baby book that will be filled up to year 5.
A scrapbook with pictures of their first year.
Monthly photoshoot of their first year.
1 (or more) knitted or crocheted blanket (made by me).
A first year calendar, that shows in a calendar format what day their firsts happened and also for keeping track of doctor appointments.
A special song.
Mira's Special Song is one that I played while in the womb and what I sing to her multiple times a day. It usually calms her down by the second line and is smiling (or laughing) by the time the song is over. My husband and I are Lindy Hop dancers and we listen to a lot of Jazz... the song I picked for Mira is called When You're Smiling by Joe Goodwin.
There are many arrangements of this song done by many well known artists including: Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, and many more... The version I played for her and the style that I sing is by a group on YouTube called Swing till you drop.
